Hot 100 Chart Moves: Rihanna, Meghan Trainor & Sam Smith Soar

As previously reported, Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, crowns the Billboard Hot 100 (dated April 18) for a 14th week, tying for the longest run at No. 1 this century. It also boasts the second-longest reign ever, trailing only Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" (16 weeks, 1995-96).

Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa's Furious 7 soundtrack hit "See You Again," featuring Charlie Puth, is making a play for the top, blasting 84-10, with its streaming totals set to surge following the April 6 premiere of its official Paul Walker tribute video.

Rihanna, "Bitch Better Have My Money"
The song pushes 23-19 in its second week on the Hot 100. Following its first full week of sales, it jumps 5-4 on Digital Songs with a 22 percent gain to 133,000 downloads sold in the week ending April 5, according to Nielsen Music.

With her Hot 100 advance, Rihanna moves closer to the mark for the most top 20 entries among women dating to the chart's 1958 launch; Elvis Presley leads all acts with 48 top 20 Hot 100 hits (and that's even with his career predating the chart's inception by two years).

Meghan Trainor, "Dear Future Husband"
Trainor makes it three top 40 Hot 100 hits with as many singles, as her latest bounds 55-39. Her debut smash "All About That Bass" ruled for eight weeks and follow-up "Lips Are Movin" climbed to No. 4. Trainor's new single surely benefits from her performance of it at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, broadcast live on NBC March 29: it re-enters Digital Songs at No. 27 with a 74 percent blast to 46,000 and Streaming Songs at No. 36 (3.8 million U.S. streams, up 28 percent).

Sam Smith, "Stay With Me"
As the song descends 39-42 in its 52nd week, it becomes just the 43rd single to spend at least a year on the Hot 100. That's out of more than 26,000 total entries all-time.

Meanwhile, Smith's newest single, "Lay Me Down," bullets at No. 20.



Sheppard, "Geronimo"
The catchy, pure-pop song backtracks 59-63 on the Hot 100, but with a bullet, and makes a key move thanks to its airplay success. Having hit the top 10 on multiple charts worldwide, Sheppard's breakthrough single becomes the family band's first top 10 on a U.S. chart: it rises 11-10 on Adult Pop Songs.

Kelsea Ballerini, "Love Me Like You Mean It"
The newcomer's debut country hit, new on the Hot 100 at No. 97 (and up 24-21 on Hot Country Songs), has been aided by Taylor Swift's March 9 tweet endorsing it. The two have since become friends, which "still psyches me out a little bit," Ballerini told SiriusXM's The Highway on April 8.
