Eminem Joins 'Best Friend' Yelawolf on Rootsy New Song:

As Eminem's protégée Yelawolf readies the release of his second studio album, Love Story, for April 21st, the pair have joined forces on the dark, Johnny Cash-inspired "Best Friend."

"Best Friend" is the latest Love Story preview to showcase the Alabama rapper's return to his southern roots; he tests out a Kid Rock-tinged combination of singing and rapping as he relays lyrics like, "But if you spit on my fuckin' grave and wish me hell, then I wish you well, and I'll send you straight up to my best friend."

Eminem, who recently annotated many of his lyrics for Genius, is unhinged during his stellar verse that effortlessly rises in intensity. "I'm about to vomit, and I can feel it coming up because failure is something I can barely stomach," raps Yelawolf's mentor and label owner.

Love Story is Yelawolf's first full-length album since his 2011 debut Radioactive. Both have been released via Eminem's Shady Records, and Eminem acts as executive producer on the LP alongside Yelawolf. "There's one feature on this album, and that's [Eminem]," Yelawolf told Complex. "Why am I gonna get such-and-such? For what? Hype? I'm just trying to make a good record."

Though Yelawolf has taken a lengthy period of time between studio albums, he has still remained busy and active as a recording artist. He's made collaborative EPs with Ed Sheeran and Travis Barker, titled The Slumdon Bridge and Psycho White, respectively. In 2013, he dropped a free mixtape titled Trunk Muzik Returns. He appeared on "Shady Cxvher" and "Twisted" for the Shady XV compilation album, which had been released last year in honor of Shady Records' 15th anniversary.
