Florence + the Machine Build a 'Ship to Wreck' in New Song:

Florence Welch rises from the wreckage in Florence + the Machine's new song "Ship to Wreck" off their upcoming album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.

The new single premiered on the BBC Radio program Annie Mac's Hottest Record. While the song carries an upbeat, bouncy sound and catchy chorus, the lyrics are filled with self-doubt and reflection. "Did I drink too much? Am I losing touch? Did I build this ship to wreck?" sings Welch.

"I was thinking about my own self-destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down," Welch said in a statement on the new song. "When you're in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most."

"Ship to Wreck" is the fourth song to be released from the baroque pop band's first album since 2011's Ceremonials, with an accompanying video set for release next week. "St. Jude," "What Kind of Man" and "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" have showcased the sonic range of the June 2nd release, varying from subdued to massively orchestral.

Written and recorded throughout 2014, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was produced by Markus Dravs. Welch had been a fan of his work on Björk's Homogenic, which she described as "a huge record" for her.

The band will play a number of festival tour dates this year, including Coachella, Governors Ball, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo.
