Zayn Malik Goes Solo, Gets Moody on 'I Won't Mind':

Producer Naughty Boy has previewed Zayn Malik's first solo track following the singer's split from One Direction.

"Let the music do the talking, guys," tweeted the producer. The tweet linked to a Soundcloud demo titled "I Won't Mind," which has since been taken down. The track is softer and more acoustic than Naughty Boy's usual work, which includes the dance track "La La La" featuring Sam Smith. "You'll never be mine," sings Malik in a sweet falsetto over an acoustic guitar.

The surprise release followed a brief Twitter fight between Naughty Boy and One Direction member Louis Tomlinson. Tomlinson had found a video the producer retweeted that promoted his tentative collaborations with Malik — nicknamed 'Zaughty' — to be in poor taste. "You're so inconsiderate pal," tweeted the singer. "Seriously how fucking old are you? Grow up!" The video was a computerized voice singing "Naughty Boy saved my life. Zaughty will rise" to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

"No one is against anyone here," tweeted Naughty a few hours after he released the demo. "The fans made all of us. Not just a chosen few. The love is alive."

Malik has remained silent on any future recording plans. According to Billboard, One Direction still owe Sony two more albums due to a 2013 contract renewal. The band has remained adamant that they'll remain a foursome and are excited about the release of new music later this year. "Had a sit down last night with the label, started organizing our writing sessions for the next album," teased member Niall Horan via Twitter. The boy band is currently on a world tour in support of 2014's Four, which will last through October.
