Tyler, the Creator's New Album Out Soon, Shares First Video:

Odd Future are making a habit out of rush-releasing surprise new albums. Three weeks after Earl Sweatshirt dropped his new album I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside, Tyler, the Creator revealed on his new Golf Media app that his 13-track Cherry Bomb will arrive digitally on Monday, April 13th. The album is the Odd Future ringleader's first since his 2013 LP Wolf.

Those who pre-ordered the album received two Cherry Bomb tracks, opener "Deathcamp" and first single "Fucking Young/Perfect," the latter a cautionary tale where the rapper falls for a girl who's "perfect, but you're too fucking young." The single features contributions from Gap Band singer and Kanye West's go-to crooner Charlie Wilson, Toro y Moi's Chaz Budnick and the Black Lips' Cole Alexander.

On Thursday, Tyler premiered his "Fucking Young/Deathcamp" combo video, which he directed under his "Wolf Haley" pseudonym. While the opening track is a soulful R&B number about borderline illegal love, "Deathcamp" finds the rapper channeling his longtime affinity for N.E.R.D. as the aggressive, riff-paced track recalls that group's "Lapdance." Tyler previously hosted a brief reunion of Pharrell Williams' rock side project at Odd Future's Camp Flog Gnaw Festival in November.

"Tell everyone," Tyler tweeted after Cherry Bomb's pre-order page went live. "It doesn't matter much but I do want a Number One album just to go back to the niggas who said I wouldn't." While the rest of Cherry Bomb's details – tracklist, features, etc. – won't be known until the album arrives April 13th, the Kanye To The forum figured out that album's 11th track will feature both Kanye West and Lil Wayne (via Billboard).

Unlike Sweatshirt and Tyler, Frank Ocean, another Odd Future associate, won't be rushing out his anticipated new album. The singer recently revealed that his as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2012's Channel Orange won't arrive until July.
