Robyn to Host Tekla Festival Encouraging Women in Technology:

Robyn will spearhead a festival in her native Sweden this April that aims to promote the inclusion of women in technology. The one-day Tekla Festival will take place April 18th at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Google and Spotify are among the tech companies sending representatives to the festival, which will also feature a performance by Robyn.

"Tekla is a festival for girls, in which they get to sample different areas of future technology in what I believe will be a fun and imaginative environment," Robyn said in a statement (via Pitchfork). Check out the Tekla official site for more info. The KTH Royal Institute of Technology previously honored the singer in 2013 when they awarded her Stockholm's Great Prize for her "artistic contributions and embrace of technology;" KTH students even built a Robyn robot.

In addition to kick-starting the Tekla festival, Robyn has also been working on the follow-up to her 2010 Body Talk trilogy of mini-albums. In February, Robyn tweeted a photo of a keyboard and a guitarist that simply informed fans, "Making music in the studio."

In 2014, Robyn teamed with Röyksopp for an EP titled Do It Again. Before they hit the road in support of their joint mini-album, Rolling Stone spoke to Robyn about the collaboration. "The way we wrote it talks about dance music in a way, the idea of the peak and the fall, and then coming back into it, but it's something you can apply to a lot of things," Robyn said. "Life goes in cycles, you have periods where you produce, and then periods where you soak up other things. You'll be in love and you'll be out of love, you'll be drunk and then you'll be sober… It's about going all the way to this euphoric state, but not stopping, and maybe you end up someplace really ugly."
