“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” –Matthew 7:15

When you first met someone and become friends with them, they seem like the most wonderful person in the world. They treat you with respect and they are always pleasant to you. These people appear to be so genuine. And always seem to have your best interest at heart. But often times, these “perfect” people are not who they portray themselves to be.
Due to their charming ways and inviting personalities, these individuals are mistaken for people who mean us well. The truth is that they are in disguise. They are what God refers to as “Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing”. These “wolves” are constantly on the prowl, looking for unsuspecting believers to go after. Because of their sheepish appearance, no one thinks that they are harmful. But in actuality, they are and will show their true colors to you in due time. Wolves in Sheep’s clothing are placed in your life as the Devil’s way of attempting to have his way with you; hence the phrase “devilish people”. He knows that he can’t be too obvious, so he comes to us in ways that make us not even realize it’s him.
The Devil comes in all different forms. Sometimes, he may come to you in a three piece suit, with a smile of pure innocence. Or he could come to you in a beautiful dress with flawless skin and long flowing hair. He is never obvious in his appearance; you will never see him with his pitch fork and horns. He knows we will not fall for that. So he plays dress up every now and then. And a lot of times, he is successful in leading us into his trap.
Even though we may not realize it at first, but God gives us warning signs to let us know to get as far away from these types of people as possible. He knows what their motives are and He knows that they will try their hardest to come into our lives and pretend to be those good people that their outward appearance shows. But our Father makes it a point to keep his children out of harm's way, which is why He blesses us with sound minds and wisdom to recognize these wolves. The Devil is always busy trying to lead us in the wrong direction. So it is up to us to listen to God and keep his words close to our hearts.
